Myymälä2

Myymälä2 has been a space for art on Uudenmaankatu since 2003. Situated at the Punavuori location, the idea is still the same: to provide an alternative to the hefty fees and endless waiting lists that are requisite to a traditional gallery show, thus allowing for less established artists and craftsmen to launch their careers.

Myymälä2 as it is today consists of not only the gallery and shop, but artist studios and the workshop of the in-house labels. With the support of the community, either through volunteer work at the space or through continued patronage, Myymälä2 endured these first seven years. Maybe it’s time to come by and find out why.

Myymälä2 persists a unique voice in the community by furnishing a gallery and performance space geared toward emerging homegrown talent and its connoisseurs. Exhibitions vary in style as the gallery strives to showcase the diversity of the contemporary art scene.
